Vision to Empower

                       

The vision is to provide an opportunity for parents that are living check to check and still not making enough to pay all the basic necessities at the end of the month.  The idea is to work with the community and government assistance to help them apply for what they need for the single parent to go back to school to get a skill, trade, or degree in the area they are passionate to work in the future.

 

The single parent will have to go through multiple interviews and have personal and work references to confirm they have a proven track record of responsibility and determination in work ethics with a history of putting ALL into their job, but find they are limited in how high they can climb because of lack of education/skill.  

 

Single parents usually have had to take whatever job they can get to make ends meet because they have not had the opportunity to get education or training for the career of their passion.

 

The vision is to empower single parents to gain the vantage point to where they are finally employed in a career they love, with an opportunity to have more than enough left over at the end of the month to pay it forward to another parent that is in the same place they were before and have a renewed sense of significance and self-worth. 

The vision is to have a business/restaurant that is located on a large piece of land that supports a community center behind it where everyone can gather.  Adjacent to the property with the business/ restaurant will be mobile homes/ small houses located close together for the families to live.

The environment is a family neighborhood-type that eats together and builds the entire family up emotionally, spiritually, and socially. Encouraging local churches and businesses to come together to teach them how to do things that a lot of people do not learn such as:  sewing, cooking, growing a garden, raising farm animals, how to fix simple things around the house, how to build furniture, how to use tools, how to change a tire or the oil in the car.  It may not seem like a lot, but to some, it makes a huge difference.

The most important of all that is reinforced is to help the family understand their true identity In Christ through God’s eyes. Renewing their understanding who they truly are In Christ, no longer seeing their identity by the world around them or from their past.

This is particularly important since the majority of single parents that are barely meeting the needs of their family -- struggle with depression, low-self esteem,  or inferiority… which ultimately passes down to the children where the cycle continues.

 

     It could empower single parents who are at risk of losing their home, job or even custody of their children to the foster care system with what they need help to get back on track and rise above the obstacles they face.  This also will help not only the parents find hope but for the children to find stability in their home and in society.
